The “Duare Sarkar” initiative of the government of West Bengal received a ‘platinum award’ from President Droupadi Murmu at the ‘Digital India Awards’, instituted by the Centre’s ministry of Electronics & IT.
About the Platinum Award
▪ The platinum award is the highest-ranked category in the Digital India Awards.
▪ The state government will receive the award in the category “excellence in design and implementation of a public digital platform with a wide scale coverage and having a high impact in society”.
▪ Draupadi Murmu, President of India will present the award on January 7, 2023, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
▪ The project has been awarded by the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology under the category ‘Public Digital Platform – Union Ministries, Departments, and States’.
▪ Present Minister of State for Finance Chandrima Bhattacharya accepted the award as the representative of West Bengal.

About Duare Sarkar Scheme
▪ “Duare Sarkar” is the dream project of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to bring various government services to the common people.
▪ It is an initiative of the state government, for the delivery of various services or schemes at the doorsteps of the people through camps organized at the gram panchayat and, municipal ward levels.
▪ 25 schemes or services are available at Duare Sarkar Camp including Lakshmi Bhandar, Kanyashree, Swasthya Sathi, and Khadya Sathi.
▪ The scheme was started on December 1, 2020.
▪ Over 6.6 crore services have been successfully delivered to the citizens of West Bengal through 3.61 lakh camps through a total of 5 phases of this scheme.
