About Subhash Chandra Bose
▪ Subhash Chandra Bose was born on 23 January 1897 in a Bengali family in Cuttack, Odisha, he had 7 brothers and 6 sisters. He was the ninth child of his parents.
▪ Netaji was deeply interested in studies from an early age. His father, Jankinath Bose, was a renowned and successful lawyer in Cuttack, who was bestowed the title of Rai Bahadur.
▪ Netaji had completed his schooling from Cuttack itself. After this, he went to Calcutta for further studies, where he did BA in Philosophy from Presidency College, Calcutta.
▪ Netaji had aspirations to pursue a career in civil service, but due to British rule, it was challenging for Indians to enter this field. In order to better prepare him, his father sent him to England to study for the Indian Civil Service Examination. Netaji ultimately came in fourth in the examination, earning the highest marks in English.
▪ Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, affectionately known as Netaji, was a prominent leader of the Indian freedom struggle. He founded the Indian National Army (Azad Hind Fauj) to overthrow British rule in India.
▪ He was also actively involved in the youth wing of the Indian National Congress (INC) and served as the President of the INC from 1938 to 1939.

Netaji’s demise
▪ The death of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose remains a mystery. According to government records, he died from third-degree burns sustained in a plane crash in Taiwan on August 18, 1945. This is the widely accepted belief, but some people believe that he survived the crash and went into hiding to evade the British authorities.
