SSC MTS Syllabus and Exam Pattern 2022: This year SSC MTS test has been scheduled to July, 2022 (Paper-1) date.

Only 4 month left for the Paper-I, before appearing in Paper-I it is necessary to know the detailed syllabus and exam pattern of the exam for effective preparation.

SSC MTS 2022 will be conducted in two stages: Paper I and Paper II (Descriptive). Paper I will be an online mode of examination that will comprise 4 sections namely Reasoning, Numerical Ability, English Language and General Awareness and Paper II will be a descriptive paper of 50 marks.

Scheme of the SSC MTS Examination

• The examination will consist in 2 steps.

  1. Paper-I (Computer Based Examination)
  2. Paper-II (Descriptive , Pen and Paper mode)

• Physical Efficiency Test (PET) or Physical Standard Test (PST) is required only for the post of Havaldar
• The schedule of examinations indicated in the Notice is tentative.

• Any change in the schedule of examinations will be informed to candidates only through the website of the Commission.

• There shall be no provision for re-evaluation/ re-checking of the scores. No correspondence in this regard shall be entertained.

SSC MTS Paper-I Exam Pattern: Important Points

• Type of Paper-I: Paper-I will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions.

• Language of Paper-I: The questions will be set both in English & Hindi for Part-II, III & IV.

• Negative marking: There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

• Marks scored by candidates in Paper-I (Computer Based Examination), if conducted in multiple shifts, will be normalized.

• And such normalized scores will be used to determine final merit and cut-off marks.

SSC MTS Syllabus for Paper-II (Descriptive)

SSC MTS Paper-II Exam Pattern: Important Points

• Type of Paper-II : ‘Descriptive’ type
• Mode of Paper-II: ‘Pen and Paper’ Mode
• Subject of Paper-II: Short essay and a letter

• Language of the Paper-II: Candidates will be required to write a short essay and a letter in English or any language included in the Schedule-VIII of the Constitution.

• Nature of Paper-II in terms of marks: Qualifying in nature until more than one candidate score equal normalized marks in Paper-I.

• Purpose of Paper-II: Test of elementary language skills in view of categorization of the post as Group-C and in view of job requirements.

[Note:- Marks scored by the candidates in Paper-II will be used to decide merit in case more than one candidate score equal normalized marks in Paper-I.]

• Criteria for appearing in Paper-II: Paper-II will be held only for those candidates who meet the cut-off prescribed by the Commission in Paper-I for different categories

SSC MTS Paper-II: Important instructions for candidates

• In Paper-II, candidates must write their correct Roll Number at the prescribed places on the cover page of the Answer Book.

• Candidates must also affix signature and Left-hand Thumb Impression in the relevant columns in the Answer Book.

• Answer Books not bearing Roll Number, Signature and Left-hand Thumb Impression shall be awarded zero marks.

• Candidates must not write any personal identity e.g. name, roll number, mobile number, address, etc. inside the Answer Book (Paper-II).

• Failure to adhere to these instructions will be treated as Unfair Means (UFM) and such candidates will be awarded zero marks and their candidature will be rejected.

Indicative Syllabus for Computer Based Examination (Paper-I)

• Questions on ‘General Intelligence and Reasoning’ will be nonverbal considering the functions attached to the post.

• Questions on Numerical Aptitude and General English will be simple, of a level that an average matriculate will be in a position to answer comfortably.

• Questions on General Awareness will also be of similar standard.

SSC MTS Syllabus for General Awareness

◘ The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries, especially pertaining to Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic scene, General Polity including Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research etc.

Indicative Syllabus for Paper-II

• The Paper will be set in Hindi, English and in other languages mentioned in the Schedule-VIII of the Constitution.
• Candidates will be required to write one short essay/ letter.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

• Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST) required only for the post of Havaldar.

Walking 1600 meters in 15 minutes. 1 Km in 20 minutes
Cycling 8 Kms. in 30 minutes 3 Kms. in 25 minutes

Note: Cycling is not applicable for the post of Havaldar in DGPM,CBIC.
