How long was the longest tennis match ever?

The longest tennis match in history occurred in 2010 at the Wimbledon Grand Slam event.

The match was between Nicolas Mahut and John Isner.

The match lasted for 11 hours and 5 minutes of play over three days.

Mahut was leading 3-0 in sets when the match ended.

The third set was tied at 3-3 when play was stopped due to darkness. The match was continued the next day with a replayed final set which Mahut won 8-6.

The previous record for the longest tennis match was held by the 2009 Davis Cup final between Argentina and Sweden, lasting five days and covering nearly 11 hours on court time.
