The US Air Force recently successfully test-fired the Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile.

On 7 September 2022, Air Force Global Strike Command airmen launched an unmanned LGM-30G Minuteman III ICBM missile.

The Minuteman entered service in 1962 as a deterrent weapon that could carry out second strikes on Soviet cities.

Minuteman III has a speed of 23 March, which means it is 23 times faster than the speed of sound.

The LGM-30G Minuteman III ICBM is manufactured by the American multinational company Boeing.
