Oil India Limited (OIL) has inaugurated “India’s first 99.999 % pure” Green Hydrogen Pilot Plant in Assam.

It has an installed capacity of 10 kg hydrogen per day.

The plant was commissioned in a record time of 3months at Jorhat pump station in Assam.

The plant is also the first in India to utilise the Anion Exchange Membrane (AEM) technology.

Green hydrogen will be produced from the electricity generated by the existing 500 kW (kilowatt) Solar plant using a 100 kW AEM Electrolyser array.

In the future, this plant is expected to boost its green hydrogen production from 10 kg per day to 30 kg per day.

OIL has undertaken a detailed study on combining green hydrogen with natural gas for ....

commercial purposes in partnership with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Guwahati.
