The 1st Jnanpith Award was  received by G. Sankara  Kurup in 1965.

Jnanpith Award is the oldest and the highest Indian  literary  award. award.

Jnanpith Award presented annually by the Bharatiya Jnanpith.

The award is given for the  “outstanding contribution towards literature”.

Until 2021, the Jnanpith award was given only once in English.

The highest Jnanpith award has been given to Hindi language.

Nilamani Phookan has been conferred with 56th Jnanpith Award in 2020.

Eminent Konkani writer Damodar Mauzo has been conferred with  57th  Jnanpith Award  in 2021.

Amitabh Ghosh is the winner of the 54th Jnanpith Award 2018 in English.
