New Griha Lakshmi Scheme of Telangana: Key Points you need to know

The Telangana government has launched a new scheme called Griha Lakshmi to provide a one-time grant of Rs 3 lakh to women beneficiaries for building a house.

The State government has allocated around Rs 12,000 crore in the State budget for the scheme and plans to provide Rs 3 lakh each to 4 lakh beneficiaries.

Houses under the scheme will be sanctioned only in the name of women beneficiaries.

Under this scheme, Rs 1 lakh each will be deposited in the bank account of the beneficiaries in three installments.

Telangana govt. has sanctioned around 3,000 houses each in all 119 constituencies along with another 43,000 houses under State quota, for the Griha Lakshmi scheme.

The Cabinet has ratified the State government's decision to waive off the loans availed by the beneficiaries under weaker section housing schemes ....
