SoftBank Group-backed Ola Electric will produce electric cars in India in 2024 with a range of up to 500 km.

Ola's electric car with the most advanced features would go from 0 to 100 km per hour in four seconds.

"This is India's most ambitious car project," Chief Executive and co-founder of Ola Cabs and Ola Electric Bhavish Agarwal said.

The company was setting up an electric vehicle ecosystem, aiming to produce cars, two wheelers and batteries all at a single plant in Tamil Nadu.

Ola 'Future Factory' in Tamil Nadu's Pochampalli will be expanded to largest EV hub in the world with a four-wheeler factory and cell plant, Aggarwal said.

OLA Electric will expand its Future Factory at Pochampalli into one of India’s largest auto hubs. New facilities include...

a 100-acre lithium-ion cell plant, 200 acres EV car plant, and an additional 40 acres for the EV scooter plant.

OLA's EV ecosystem consists of three plants. 1) OLA scooter factory (It will produce 10 million scooters a year) ...

2) OLA car Factory (It will produce 1 million cars per year) and 3) OLA Gigafactory (It will produce 100 GWh cells per year).

OLA sold over 70,000 electric two-wheelers in the last 7 months and was in the process of setting up 100 hyper charging electric stations in major cities across India.
