West Bengal exporting meat to FIFA World Cup host Qatar

The West Bengal government is exporting meat from the Haringhata Livestock Unit in Nadia district to Qatar, the host country of the FIFA World Cup 2022.
Besides Qatar, West Bengal will also send meat to countries like Kuwait, Hong Kong and Maldives.
The meat will be exported from the processing center at Haringhata owned by the West Bengal Livestock Development Corporation.
Mainly goat and sheep meat will be exported to Qatar, the host country of the football World Cup 2022, and other countries.
The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has approved the Bengal government to export meat to several countries.
Animal Resource Development Minister Swapan Debnath said "We have received a contract for exporting 1.2 metric tonne of meat.
He also said, 'About seven tons of meat will be sent in six batches in a month.
