What is One Nation One Subscription initiative? Know the details here

Recently, the Ministry of Education announced a One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) initiative for the people of India.

Through this initiative the people of India can get open access to national and international research papers and journals.

This One Nation One Subscription initiative will benefit everyone in the country, including schools, colleges, universities and research institutes.

The initiative is from the Office of the Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, and will be effective from April 1 next year.

Resources of 70 publishers recommended by the Planning and Executive Committee (PEC) are being considered by the Core Committee for the first phase of ONOS.

Government institutions, government-funded academic institutes and research and development institutes are the primary institutions that will benefit from this initiative.

Other beneficiaries would be research labs from ministry departments such as the Department of Science and Technology (DST) ....  

Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR),  ....

Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), ....

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEiTY).
