The World Malaria Day (WMD) is commemorated every year on 25 April.

The concept of World Malaria Day derived from the Africa Malaria Day.

The Africa Malaria Day had been observed since 2001 by the government of Africa.

World Malaria Day was first observed in 2008.

Half of the entire world’s malaria cases were found in 5 countries. They are ..

Nigeria, India, DR Congo, Mozambique,   and Uganda.

It is caused by parasites transmitted to people via bites  of infected female anopheles’ mosquitoes.

It is a life-threatening disease which is preventable and curable.
