- India secured its third ICC Champions Trophy title by defeating New Zealand in the final match held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. This marks India’s third overall win in the history of the tournament, further solidifying its dominance in ODI cricket.
🏅 Key Highlights from ICC Champions Trophy 2025:
- Rachin Ravindra (New Zealand) was the standout performer of the tournament, clinching both the ‘Golden Bat’ and ‘Player of the Tournament’ awards for his exceptional all-round performance across matches.
- Virat Kohli (India) reached a major career milestone by becoming the fastest player to score 14,000 ODI runs, achieving the feat in just 287 innings during the match against Pakistan.
- Rohit Sharma, India’s captain, was awarded the ‘Player of the Match’ in the final for his superb contribution with the bat. He also became the second-fastest player to reach 11,000 ODI runs, doing so in his 261st innings, second only to Virat Kohli.
- Ravindra Jadeja displayed brilliance in the field and was awarded the ‘Fielder of the Match’ for his sharp fielding efforts in the final.
- Mohammed Shami created history by becoming the fastest Indian bowler to take 200 ODI wickets, reaching the milestone in just 104 matches. He broke the previous record held by Ajit Agarkar, who had achieved it in 133 matches. This feat was accomplished in India’s match against Bangladesh.
- Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran stunned everyone with a historic knock of 177 runs against England, setting the record for the highest individual score in the history of the ICC Champions Trophy.

- Khelo India Para Games (KIPG) 2025 held in New Delhi from March 20–27, 2025.
- Haryana topped the medal tally at KIPG 2025 with 104 medals.

- A 49-member Indian team participated in the Special Olympics World Winter Games 2025 in Turin, Italy.

- India’s men’s Regu team made history by winning their first-ever gold medal at the 2025 Sepaktakraw World Cup, defeating Japan 2-1 in a thrilling final match held in Patna, Bihar.
- With this win, India was officially crowned the World Champion in Men’s Regu, marking a significant milestone in Indian Sepaktakraw history.
- Previously, the team had secured bronze medals in the 2017 ISTAF World Cup (Hyderabad) and the 2022 edition in Daejeon, South Korea.
- The Indian women’s team also showcased a strong performance, securing a bronze medal in the Regu event after a semi-final loss to Vietnam.
- The gold medal in the women’s Regu event went to Thailand, while Vietnam claimed silver.
- In the Quad event, both the Indian men’s and women’s teams secured bronze medals.
- The Mixed Quad event also saw India winning a bronze medal, displaying the team’s all-round growth across categories.

- Menenu Tsukru, hailing from Nagaland, was part of the Indian women’s team that secured silver in the quad and bronze in doubles, while Seyiekhrieno Tepa contributed to the team’s bronze in Regu.
🕊️ Khelo India Para Games (KIPG) 2025 – Mascot and Branding
- The mascot of the Khelo India Para Games (KIPG) 2025, scheduled to be held in New Delhi, has been unveiled as “Ujjwala”, a character inspired by the house sparrow of Delhi.
- The mascot Ujjwala symbolizes determination and perseverance, core traits associated with para-athletes, and highlights the spirit of inclusivity and resilience.
- The event’s official logo was launched by Devendra Jhajharia, a decorated Paralympian and member of the Paralympic Committee of India, along with Smt. Sminu Jindal, the founder chairperson of Svayam, the official accessibility partner of the Games.
- The vibrant logo features a dynamic para-athlete in hues of orange, green, and blue, capturing the essence of movement, inclusivity, and progress.
- It also incorporates iconic landmarks of Delhi, such as the new Parliament building, Bharat Mandapam, Delhi Metro, and the Yamuna River, seamlessly blended with graphics of athletes in action.
- The Games carry the uplifting tagline: “Champions Beyond Limits” or “Haunslon Ki Udaan”, encapsulating the indomitable spirit and aspirations of the participating athletes.
- An official anthem, with the energizing words “Khelega khelega mera India, jeetega jeetega mera India,” was also released to boost morale and enthusiasm among participants and spectators alike.
