March 2025

  • Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M), in collaboration with Indian Railways, has launched India’s first hyperloop test track, marking a major step in high-speed transportation innovation.
  • INOX India Limited has become the first Indian cryogenic equipment manufacturer to receive the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) 16949 certification.
  • Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has become India’s first local body to include a dedicated climate chapter in its budget, allocating ₹5,619.58 crore for climate action.
  • A Fiscal Support Agreement (FSA) was signed between India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), Tata Semiconductor Manufacturing Private Limited (TSMPL), and Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) for setting up India’s first commercial semiconductor fabrication unit in Dholera, Gujarat.
  • Union Minister Pralhad Joshi inaugurated India’s first AI-powered solar manufacturing line at Goldi Solar Private Limited’s facility in Surat, Gujarat.
  • Anju Rathi Rana has been appointed as India’s first woman law secretary.
  • The Himachal Pradesh Government signed a Memorandum of Commitment (MoC) with Spray Engineering Devices Ltd. to establish India’s first integrated facility for API manufacturing, Green Hydrogen, and 2G Ethanol production.
  • Lohum Corporation announced the establishment of India’s first battery-grade lithium refinery with an annual capacity of 1,000 metric tonnes in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
  • The Assam Cabinet has officially renamed Northeast India’s first Electronic City in Jagiroad, Morigaon district, as “Ratan Tata Electronic City”.
  • IIT Guwahati is developing India’s first VR-enabled metaverse platform named “Gyandhara” for PM Shri Adarsh Vidyalayas in Assam, to foster creativity and curiosity among students.
  • Indore is set to launch India’s first PPP-model based green waste processing plant under the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban, boosting sustainable waste management.

  • Gorakhpur in Haryana has been identified as the site for North India’s first nuclear project, boosting regional energy infrastructure.

  • Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of Ken-Betwa River linking project, the country’s first interlinking of rivers project, with an estimated cost of ₹45,000 crore.

November 2024

  • India’s first Constitution Museum was inaugurated at O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU), Sonipat, Haryana, to enhance public understanding of the Constitution.
  • Hanooman AI launched Everest 1.0, India’s first multi-lingual and multi-modal foundational Large Language Model (LLM).
  • The Government of India inaugurated the complex of India’s first Biomanufacturing Institute, BRIC-NABI, in Mohali.
